I did use it in the recipe for the OlivEm cream because it was part of the
formula. I've done some research on it and other than it being an
anti-viral, I don't understand the importance it would play in a facial
moisturizer. I would think there are other options that would bring more to
the moisturizer than OLE.
I did read up on the SymGlucan, homeostatine, Hibiscus Extract and
Vincience's. It sounds like the Vinscience's are a definite choice if you
want an anti-aging property added in to what is already in this formula.
I'm going to be substituting Pepha-Tight for the Matrixyl the next time
around. I was also considering substituting sea kelp for the OLE. What are
your thoughts on sea kelp?<<
Hi April,
The new Vincience products look very good to me, but I haven't tried them
yet. I plan to very soon - in my next moisturizer formula! Matrixyl 3000 is
a good product, but Sederma does not permit distribution of their products
anymore so that one's out for us. Besides, there are many, many newer peptides
these days. SynTacks works well for me for wrinkles and fine lines and
firming/smoothing. I love Homeostatine and SymGlucan and use them in most of my
formulas. I have used Pepha-Tight in formulas and I like the immediate
firming and smoothing. I think it works very well in a gelled serum formula.
Hibiscus Extract is another good choice. I utilized many of these in my EMT
Skin Rescue Serum formula:

The Sea Kelp Bioferment was all the rage last year and continues to be a
good seller for us. I have never used it in a facial moisturizer, but customers
seem to like it.
The CO2 Extracts are some of my own favorites - Pomegranate Seed, Rose Hip
Seed, Amaranth Seed. Also we just brought in Cupuacu Butter and I am in love
with it ;-) I recently made another facial moisturizer that utilizes
SugarMulse, XanThix, Jojoba Oil, SymGlucans, Pomegranate CO2, SynTacks,
Homeostatine, Rosemary Antioxidant CO2, and Cupucau Butter. Our staff has declared this
to be one of - if not the best - moisturizer formulas. Even when used at
10%, this butter is not greasy.
So, I hope that gives you some ideas!
Happy Holidays!
Angie
