be packaged in glass? There are concerns about plastics leeching
substances over time into personal care products. This process takes
time, and is known to be more hazardous with certain plastics over
others. To avoid the issue entirely, the simple answer is package in
glass.
The downside to glass is the weight and cost. The initial cost of
glass bottles is higher, and the weight makes shipping more expensive.
For conversation purposes, assume switching would add at least $1 to
the existing price of a lotion or cream.
Another factor is safety. Many items reside in the bathroom, where
tile flooring or ceramic is common. When a soft/plastic bottle falls,
you pick it up. When a glass bottle falls it shatters or cracks and
must be discarded.
How do you feel about it?
