Hi list, I hope everyone's been having a lot of fun and successful crafting. I'm having a blast and am still enjoying learning as I go along. I have two questions I wanted to get advice for: 1. I am very fond of a particular perfume (Robert Piguet Fracas), and have noticed that there isn't a candle available in the fragrance. So, since I'm planning on taking items from the line on an upcoming and likely romantic weekend, I thought maybe I could make a candle with the perfume or eau de parfum. Is this an inadvisable practice? I thought perhaps using a soy base and just blending in a bit of fragrance and color would work, but I don't know if it would and figured there would likely be people here who've got experience in this sort of thing. Oh, btw, if anyone knows of Fracas, and further more, know where I can find a true enough duplicate FO, that would be awesome. My second question: What's the best method you use for measuring small quantities of oils i.e. essential or fragrance? I have small eo bottles that have a dropper built in, so I can measure these quite easily and have a lot of control over how strong I want the fragrance to be. However, all of the fos I have are in screw top plastic bottles that don't have any sort of dropper, and some are much larger than others. I'd thought of drawing up specific amounts with syringes, but then wondered if the plastic would absorb the scent and I wouldn't be able to get it out? I'm already trying to get the accumulated collected scent of my fos out of my silicone molds, and that's tedious enough! Thanks in advance and I really appreciate all the wonderful advice on this list! Oh, and a belated welcome to all our new members!
