Thank you Barbara for your welcome. I appreciate your comments. I have seen the cigar band type labels on other crafters' soaps. I really like them too.. except I need a way to print my information on them. I do have a printer and know how to use it, but I can't find how to get the print on the labels other than buy the labels and have a print shop print them for me. I've heard there are computer programs that can help one create their own labels.. but so far I haven't found a program like that. I also haven't found a place that supplies the cigar labels.. or the peel and stick labels either. Do you know a source where these can be bought? I also have learned each scent will need it's own label. I bought 12 EOs in my initial order. I would like labels for each scent.. or perhaps a blank space left on the label to stamp the scent on it with a rubber stamp. I think there are alphabet stamps that have letters and/or numbers that can be dialed on the stamp to make certain words such as Lavender, Mango.. etc. Do you know what I mean? I plan to wrap my soaps in colorfast tissue paper and use a glue gun to glue the wrap around the soap bar. I've found some really nice print as well as solid color tissue paper. I agree that body lotions and things of that nature require the ingredients to be exactly listed in order of greatest to least. I'm just not sure about the melt and pour soaps. I look forward to reading and learning from all of you. ~Joanne -------Original Message------- From: blgodfrey97 Date: 10/11/2009 10:09:36 PM Subject: [Cosmetic_Soap_Toiletry_Candle_Scent] Re: New To This Group Hi Joanne Welcome to group! Soap making is very rewarding and there are a lot of soap makers on this list. For my soaps, I make what is called a cigar band. It's about 1 1/2 inches wide and wraps around the soap, allowing it to breathe and yet give me a chance to decorate and label my soaps. I can't vouch for M&P soap but for cold process (soap from scratch) you do not have to put the ingredients on the packaging. For lotions or any other products used on the body, you do. And they need to labeled correctly with the legal names of the ingredients from greatest to the least quantity. HTH and others may want to jump in here too BarbaraG Poughkeepsie, NY List Auntie --- In Cosmetic_Soap_Toiletry_Candle_Scent@yahoogroups.com, "Joanne" <nbarbjr@...> wrote: > > Hello, > > > > My name is Joanne.
