Hi Sarah..
On the candle question I have NO idea..dont make them as yet..
on the dropper question..you can buy those dropper pieces from suppliers and put them into your fo bottles just like you have them in your eo bottles.
When you buy scents, if you receive them in plastic bottles for shipping purposes..you should transfer them into glass bottles when they get to your house..if you dont you will notice that the bottles 'cave in' on themselves and can then crack and leak all over your cupboard..dont ask me how I know this! lol So buy the glass bottles to transfer them into and the droppers to go into them at the same time and you will have dropper bottles.
I dont worry about the fo's smell in my silicone molds, I dont find it transfers onto the next soap scent at all...I have been using my silicone molds for gosh..on 4 or 5 years now and even when I do unscented soaps in the same molds, have no scent transfer onto the unscented soaps.
I also dont worry about the old soap colouring that leached into my silicone molds, as this also does not leach out onto other soaps...once, when I first got the molds, I put something brown in them and they are stained now..but besides looking ugly..they work just perfectly..lol
Oh one last thing..I also use pippettes to scent some things if I am doing a one off order..so here is what I do till my bottle is gone..I use the pipette to scent the product..then I wash in hot soapy water (sucking the hot soapy water into the pipette and squeezing out etc etc) and then I rinse the pipette in a glass of clear water the same way..then I put the pipette into baby bottle liquid steriliser and leave it there till the next day..then I squeeze the water out..and let it dry standing up in an empty glass with some paper towel in the bottom. I put this into a sandwich bag and write the name of the scent on the bag..so next time someone wants bath salts (for example) in say jasmine dreams..I get the pipette I used in that scent and re use it till its no longer useable..I was tossing them out after each use..but they are not so cheap here and I get the good heavy duty pipettes and am big on recycling..so for me..cleaning them and re using them is a better option than just tossing them out after one little use. Another toiletries maker gave me this idea a few years ago.
Most times now, I use bigger amounts of eo's or fo's and so I just pour them into glass sauce dishes and weigh them on my scale.

My second question:
What's the best method you use for measuring small quantities of oils
i.e. essential or fragrance? I have small eo bottles that have a
dropper built in, so I can measure these quite easily and have a lot
of control over how strong I want the fragrance to be. However, all
of the fos I have are in screw top plastic bottles that don't have
any sort of dropper, and some are much larger than others. I'd
thought of drawing up specific amounts with syringes, but then
wondered if the plastic would absorb the scent and I wouldn't be able
to get it out? I'm already trying to get the accumulated collected
scent of my fos out of my silicone molds, and that's tedious enough!
Thanks in advance and I really appreciate all the wonderful advice on
this list! Oh, and a belated welcome to all our new members!
