This issue of glycerin or honey being added to a lip balm was also being discussed in another group I'm on. I have always heard that lanolin will "emulsify" honey or glycerin into an anhydrous product like lip balms, so yesterday I tried it and it worked really well so far. I used 5% each lanolin and glycerin. I melted the hard waxes, butters and oils first with the lanolin and then added the glycerin, stirring by hand really well. So far, no separation and I LOVE the feel of the balm.
I know this would not be an option for a vegan product, but if that's not an issue, try lanolin.
David - Do you have a link for a supplier of polyglyceryl lipids? Thanks!
Kerri - Have you tried lanolin?
