I never had the other effects you experienced but the grainy stuff in
the pot while mixing happened to three batches one day.
Another soaper and I noodled it about for a day or two and the only
thing I cold come up with was that for my formula (the oils and butters)
I should never soap below 90 degrees fahrenheit.
That day I was making 1,000 bars for a wholesale account and my melted
oils had a chance to cool down more then usual.
Haste Does in deed make Waste. Rebatched them all (ugh) and sold them
as Boo Hoo bars, 3 for $9.99 ... they flew off the shelves. A silver
lining for my soap disaster.
